Civil aviators who participated in Qarabagh war

 

Safa Fatulla oghly Akhundov

Safa Akhundov was born in the city of Masalli in 1958. In 1979 he graduated from Buquruslan Civil Aviation School.

He is a participant of Qarabagh war. Akhundov, who was the commander of Mi-8 helicopter of Zabrat “Azalaero” Aviation Company, often flies to Daghliq Qarabagh – the war zone to carry food, ammunition and fuel necessary for the front. He was hit by the Armenians on January 28, 1992 during the next Aghdam-Shusha flight. Safa Akhundov was awarded the honorary name of the National Hero of the Republic of Azerbaijan after his death with the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan for his courage and heroism in the fights for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

 

 

 

 

Asad Soltan oghlu Asadov

Asad Asadov was born in the village of Taten of Zangilan region in 1956. After finishing high school he was admitted to Krasnokutsk Aviation School from 1974 to 1976.

He is a participant of Qarabagh war. Asad Asadov – the commander of An-2 plane of Yevlakh Aviation Company flied to the war zone of Daghliq Qarabagh many times as an experienced aviator and made the right decisions in every difficult situation as a brave commander.

In 1991 his helicopter was heavily attacked by Armenian militants and the whole crew and passengers were killed.

Asad Asadov was awarded the honorary name of the National Hero of the Republic of Azerbaijan after his death with the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan for his courage and heroism in the fights for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

 

 

Yaver Yagub oghlu Aliyev

Yaver Aliyev was born in 1956 in Baku in an oilman’s family. After graduating from the school no 235 in Pirallahi island he was admitted to Kremenchuq Civil Aviation school and in 1977 he graduated from here. He started his professional career in 1977 in Zabrat aviation institution. Aliyev was the pilot of Mi-2 helicopter and then the II pilot and commander of Mi-8 helicopter. Considering his high professionalism and positive personal qualities he was appointed the commander of flight team of Zabrat aviation institution.

Yaver Aliyev’s organizational skills, bellicosity and high professional preparedness was considered when he was appointed the commander of the first military helicopter squadron. In a very short time he managed to gather the best pilots of the civil aviation to prepare a military collective. Zakir Yusufov, Zakir Majidov, Khanlar Sattarov, Feyruz Jalilov, Faiq Mammadov, Fazail Bayramov and others worked without stopping to form the military aviation of Azerbaijan as soon as possible.

The flight team under Y. Aliyev’s supervision participated in transportation of the people in mountainous regions, as well as forming a flight bridge between the villages of Aghdam and Shusha under blockage and in military flights. He demonstrated not only his organizational skills, but also his personal qualities like courage and bravery in all these flights.

Yaver Aliyev was killed on February 29, 1992 when carrying out the next assignment.

Yaver Aliyev was awarded the honorary name of the National Hero of the Republic of Azerbaijan after his death with the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan for his courage and heroism in the fights for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Arastun Ispandi oghlu Mahmudov

Arastun Mahmudov was born in 1957 in Probilqasim village of Ismayilli region. After graduating from Viborg Aviation school in 1978 he started working for Zabrat Joint Aviation team as a technician.

He is a participant of Qarabagh war. Considering his fighting skills Arastun Mahmudov was added to the team carrying out military operations in border regions of Daghliq Qarabagh and Armenia.

Mi-8 helicopter was hit by Armenians on Aghdam-Shusha route when transporting the local people on January 28, 1992. Arastun Mahmudov was killed heroically together with the rest of the crew.

Arastun Mahmudov was awarded the honorary name of the National Hero of the Republic of Azerbaijan after his death with the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan for his courage and heroism in the fights for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

He is buried in Martyrs’ Avenue.

 

 

Zakir Nusrat oghlu Majidov

Zakir Majidov was born in Sovetabad village of Neftchala in 1959. After graduating from school no 70 in Baku in 1974 he was admitted to the Soviet Hero Taran Sasovo Civil Aviation School and in 1976 graduates from this school with a major in flight exploitation of planes.

He started his professional career in 1976 as the II pilot of An-2 plane in the aviation team of Yevlakh. In 1979 he switched to Zabrat aviation team and in 1982 becomes the commander of An-2 plane. In 1984 he changed his qualification to flight on Mi-2 helicopter at Kremenchuq Pilot School without leaving his professional duties and becomes the commander of Mi-24 helicopter in January, 1985.

He is a participant of Qarabagh War. He was admitted to the first helicopter squadron of the Air Forces of the Republic of Azerbaijan in March, 1992 and bravely fought against chauvinist-dashnak Armenian occupiers. Z. Majidov was heroically killed when fulfilling his next military assignment in Aghdere region together with his flight crew on August 6, 1992.

Zakir Majidov was awarded the honorary name of the National Hero of the Republic of Azerbaijan after his death with the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan for his courage and heroism in the fights for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

He is buried in Martyrs’ Avenue.

 

 

Hikmat Oktay oghlu Muradov

   Hikmat Muradov was born in 1969 in Baku. In 1991 he graduated from Krasnokutsk Pilot School. After graduating from this school he was appointed a II pilot in An-2 plane in Yevlakh Aviation Company.

He is a participant of Qarabagh War. With his An-2 plane he carried out many flights to Daghliq qarabagh for transporting equipment and to Khojali for transporting aviation workers.

An-2 plane under H. Muradov’s supervision was severely attacked by the Armenians on October 29, 1992 in the territory of Khanabad settlement when returning from Khojali and the entire crew and passengers were tragically killed.

Hikmat Muradov was awarded the honorary name of the National Hero of the Republic of Azerbaijan after his death with the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan for his courage and heroism in the fights for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

He is buried in Martyrs’ Avenue.

 

 

Kakhraddin Musa oghlu Musayev

   Fakhraddin Musayev was born in the city of Bayramali of Turkmenistan in 1957. He graduated from Nijniy Novqorod Polytechnic Institute, was called to the army and joined military operations with North military forced in Czechoslovakia. During his military service he was admitted to Orenburg Higher Military Pilot School. After coming back to Baku Fakhraddin, who had perfect military preparation, was admitted to Soviet Union Hero Taran Sasovo Civil Aviation Flight School. In 1992 he graduated from this School with distinction and was appointed the commander of An-2 plane.

He is a participant of Qarabagh war. In March, 1992 he started to work as a pilot-operator in Mi-24 military helicopter. The senior lieutenant Fakhraddin Musayev was tragically killed when carrying out a missile attack in the territory of Fizuli region.

Fakhraddin Musayev was awarded the honorary name of the National Hero of the Republic of Azerbaijan after his death with the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan for his courage and heroism in the fights for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

He is buried in Martyrs’ Avenue.

 

 

Viktor Vasilyevich Seryogin

  Viktor Seryogin was born in Tbilisi, Georgia on March 23 1944. After graduating from Kremenchuq Pilot School in 1986 he was appointed the pilot of Mi-2 helicopter of Zabrat separate aviation team. For his services in civil aviation he was awarded a Labor Veteran medal and named the Best Pilot.

He is a participant of Qarabagh war. As a part of the helicopter team he flew to Daghliq Qarabagh and border regions of Azerbaijan many times. The helicopter that he was piloting was attacked and damaged by Armenian bandits. The crew under the supervision of Seryogin continued to repair the helicopter under the gun-fire of the enemy and fulfilled the assignment once the helicopter was fixed.

His helicopter was attacked and hit by the enemy on January 28, 1992 when the crew of Mi-8 helicopter under V. Seryogin’s supervision was carrying out another assignment on Aghdam-Shusha route. Seryogin demonstrated heroism by taking the burning helicopter away from the residential area and preventing additional loss and heroically killed together with his crew.

Viktor Seryogin was awarded the honorary name of the National Hero of the Republic of Azerbaijan after his death with the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan for his courage and heroism in the fights for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

He is buried in Martyrs’ Avenue.

 

 

Zakir Tofiq oghlu  Yusifov

   Zakir Yusifov was born in Baku in 1956. After graduating from high school in 1974 he was called to military service and the same year he was admitted from the Soviet Union Hero Taran Sasovo Civil Aviation School and graduated from here in 1977.

He started his professional career in 1977 in Yevlakh aviation circle as a civil pilot in 1977 and became the commander of An-2 plane. He has been in the positions of squadron commander, squadron deputy commander and pilot of flight organization and maintenance inspector. Z. Yusifov graduated from the legal department of Baku State University in 1988.

He is a participant of Qarabagh war. During the war he carried out more than 100 military flights and rocket bombing acts on the positions of Armenian corps. He has been particularly notable in battles for Asgaran, Fizuli, Khojavend, Tartar, Aghdere and Shushakend. Zakir Yusifov was heroically killed in a military operation on October 11, 1992.

Zakir Yusifov was awarded the honorary name of the National Hero of the Republic of Azerbaijan after his death with the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan for his courage and heroism in the fights for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Fazail Qudrat oghlu Bayramov

   Fazail Bayramov was born in 1958 in Prishib village of Jalilabad. After graduating from high school in 1975 he was admitted to Troitsk Civil Aviation Technical School and graduated from this school in 1978 with a major in Technical Maintenance of Planes and Aviation Engines. After graduating he has worked in different regions of Russia such as Krasnodar, Tumen, Urengoy, Nadim and Yamburg aviation institutions and carried out 2500 hours of flight. In 1989 he came back to Azerbaijan and started to work for Zabrat aviation institution.

He is a participant of Qarabagh war. In general he has been in 143 flights to the front zone. He has carried military equipment, medicines, bondage materials and food to Shusha, Kalbajar, Khojali, Qubadli and other regions and helped to flee heavily wounded women, old people and children from the battle zones.

On February 29, 1992 his helicopter was hit by the enemy when carrying out his service duties and the entire flight crew was killed. For the heroism he demonstrated in the battles Fazail Bayramov was awarded the “Azerbaijan Flag” order after his death with the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

 

 

Zulkayda Khidir Nabi oghlu Zulkaydayev

  Zulkayda Zulkaydayev was born on May 11, 1995 in Baku. After graduating from high school in 1972 he was admitted to Krasnokutsk Pilot School and graduated from this school with a pilot degree.

He started his professional career with the crew of agriculture aviation of Yevlakh Aviation Institution. 1988 he started to work as the commander of An-2 plane in Zabrat aviation institution. He mastered piloting Mi-2 and Mi-8 in 1991 and later Mi-24 helicopters.

He is a participant of Qarabagh war. He carried out 20 military flights during the war and destroyed plenty of equipment and manpower of the enemy. Lieutenant Zulkaydayev participated in the battles for protecting the border regions, including Fuzuli, Aghdam and Tovuz from the Armenian bandits. He was heroically killed when carrying out the next military assignment around Horadiz region on May 10, 2994.

For the heroism he demonstrated in the battles Zulkayda Zulkaydayev was awarded the “Azerbaijan Flag” order after his death with the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

 

 

Feyruz Khanbaba oghlu Jalilov

   Feyruz Jalilov was born in Mashrif village of Siyazan in 1957. After graduating from high school in 1978 he was admitted to Kremenchuq Civil Aviation Pilot School and in 1981 graduated from this school. He started his professional career in Zabrat Aviation Institution. 1986 he was admitted to Kiev Civil Aviation Engineering Institute and became a graduate of this school in 1992 without leaving his professional duties.

He is a participant of Qarabagh war. He demonstrated great bravery and courage in the battles for Kalbajar and Aghdere. On August 30, 1993 the helicopter of Feyruz Jalilov was hit by our repellent enemies Armenians in one of the bloody battles in Qubadli and the flight crew was killed.

For the heroism he demonstrated in the battles Feyruz Jalilov was awarded the “Azerbaijan Flag” order after his death with the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

 

 

Rasim Rasimovich Mustafin

  Rasim  Mustafin was born in Baku in 1962. He graduated from Viborg Aviation School.

He is a participant of Qarabagh war. He was heroically killed in 1993 when carrying out the next military assignment.

For the bravery and heroism demonstrated in the battles for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Azerbaijan Rasim Mustafin was awarded the “Azerbaijan Flag” order after his death with the Decree of the President of Azerbaijan.

 

 

 

 

 

Valeri Merkulov

   Valeri Merkulov was born in 1959.

He graduated from Kremenchuq Civil Aviation Pilot School.

He is a participant of Qarabagh war. He was heroically killed in 1993 when carrying out a military assignment.

For the heroism he demonstrated in the battles Valeri Merkulov was awarded the “Azerbaijan Flag” order after his death with the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
