Medical Evacuation Exercise

Home \ News \ Medical Evacuation Exercise

As part of the Medical Emergency Response Plan (MERP), a joint Medical Evacuation Exercise was successfully conducted in accordance with a pre-planned emergency scenario, with the participation of JOCAP, MediClub, and ASG Helicopter Services (ASGHS).

MediClub, as one of the country’s leading standby medical air evacuation providers, delivers offshore Helicopter Emergency Medical Services (HEMS) and MEDEVAC support across the Caspian Sea. Throughout the exercise, MediClub demonstrated a consistently high level of operational readiness, responsiveness, safety, and compliance with applicable international standards and industry best practices.

The exercise evaluated the end-to-end medical evacuation process, including initial emergency response, patient assessment and stabilization, effective coordination between medical and aviation personnel, safe patient transfer to the helicopter, in-flight medical care and monitoring, and overall management of the evacuation operation. Particular emphasis was placed on inter-agency coordination, communication, operational safety, and the seamless integration of medical and aviation resources.

The exercise was conducted in alignment with relevant HEMS/MEDEVAC principles, aviation security requirements, flight operational safety standards, and emergency medical response protocols.

Regular multi-agency exercises of this nature are essential to maintaining a high state of operational preparedness, strengthening inter-organizational coordination, validating emergency response procedures, and ensuring the continuity, reliability, and quality of offshore air medical evacuation services provided by ASGHS.

These exercises further demonstrate ASGHS’s commitment to maintaining the highest standards of safety, operational excellence, and emergency preparedness in support of offshore aviation operations.
